DAY NINE
Stratford! Which can only mean one thing...Hamlet! Yes, this is the only thing we did in Stratford. No, we don't regret it. I'm pretty sick of small towns in the UK at this point. And besides, all three of us were too excited about the play to really care about anything else.
Went to the stage door before the show started to see if Patrick Stewart or David Tenant would sign anything but a woman came out and said only David Tennant would come out and only after the show and only for five minutes. So we all sighed and left for a bit until it was closer to show time. A pitcher of Pimm's later we get back to the theatre to see it.
Gah! It was amazing. I can't tell you how awesome it was to see David Tennant and Patrick Stewart on stage together. They were both epic. The whole thing was epic. It was just amazing. I'm so good with the details, no? Haha...it was very good.
Afterward we ran back to the stage door but a grumpy old man came out and said that Mr. Stewart and Mr. Tennant had left already. And we were all very sad. Especially all the British fangirls who were only there to see David Tennant. Patrick Stewart is more amazing. I don't know why there were no British fangirls for him. :O Anyroad, we left them sticky notes on the door, telling them how much we love them.
DAY TEN
Took the train from Stratford to Cardiff today. It was a pretty long train because we had to go from Stratford to Birmingham and then Birmingham to Cardiff. It took about 3 hours and that day we didn't leave until later than usual. We didn't even get into Cardiff until around 200pm.
When we got in we immediately tried to find the Millenium Centre where they film Torchwood and Doctor Who. We walked by the Millenium Plaza and Millenium Stadium because we figured the Millenium Centre would be close by. No dice.
Then we decided to go back to the train station and ask them where the hostel is but the information booth was closed! So, we asked someone at the ticket booth and she said we needed to take a bus but she didn't know which one. Then it was an epic quest for this elusive hostel starting with a hunt for the right bus, involving awful cranky bus drivers, and ending with us walking most of the way to this stupid YHA hostel.
After quite an exhausting search we finally found it. We stayed in a 12 bedroom dorm that night. Not so bad, really. Everyone was fairly quiet.
After we got settled in we went back down to the city centre to find the Millenium Centre. We are determined. You gotta give us that. Bit of a walk to get there as it's actually by Cardiff Bay not the city centre. Lots of pictures ensued. The Millenium Centre looks rather impressive at night too:

Had quite an awesome discussion while eating dinner with Caro about who is more of a musical genius: Mike Patton or Beethoven? We weren't really talking about that so much as how we would fairly determine how to answer that question. We had a whole scenario where we would get three guys and three girls who either liked both kinds of music or didn't like either and they would have to do a series of surveys and we would present our cases for each. It was all very awesome. Now we really want to do it. We asked Alex, Jess, and Wes. So far it's 1 for Beethoven, 1 for Patton, and 1 for David Usher. ^_^
DAY ELEVEN
Caro and I had to switch hostels that day because the YHA one we were staying in was booked up for the night so we headed down to our new one in the morning. Thankfully, it's very close to the city centre so no more awful bus drivers. Dropped off our bags and then headed to Cardiff Castle.
It's pretty awesome. It's this huuge castle right in the middle of the city. I'm talking like...right in the city centre. We did a little audio tour of it and took pictures of us attacking the keep and stuff.

That's a picture of the keep. Not the whole castle. There's actually a huge wall surrounding that. The keep was the best part though. ^_^
Jess called and said she was in Cardiff too, staying at the same hostel even! Total coincidence. We're just awesome like that. Shopped a bit with her and Caro. Went to Spinner's Records which is the oldest record shop in the world. Got some awesome Melvins cds.
Headed down to the Millenium Centre again because Jess hadn't been. Found a Doctor Who exhibit. It was awesome.
DAY TWELVE
In Bath right now. Caro and I walked up a fucking huge hill to get to our hostel. And now we're being lazy. More later when my fingers don't hurt from typing. ^_~
