Two months later...

I am so bad at this. I should just resolve to update every two weeks or something. Pfft, like that's going to happen.

We bought our plane tickets! We're leaving Vancouver, BC on September 14, 2008 and we'll be arriving about midday on the 15th in London, England! We bought our tickets through Zoom Airlines because they were the cheapest ones we could find. They're also non-stop from here to London. On the one hand it's kind of nice because that means we get there faster. On the other hand it sucks for little ol' claustrophobic me because that means I have to stay in there for 9 hours and 35 minutes. Not looking forward to that part so much.

I purchased my Eurail pass a while back. Got it in the mail about 3 weeks ago. Now I have the ability to travel pretty much anywhere in Europe, for free! Ha, except that the pass cost me 1,117$. Still...it's gonna feel like its' free.

Lately I have had lots of trouble putting money into my savings account. Hopefully I can remedy that soon. My new job should help. I'm now stocking groceries at a big corporate shithole grocery store. Wow, that was a little harsh...but true. It sucks quite a bit. But I could really use the extra income.

Hm, Caro said she made a list of things to do before Europe and that it was rather frightening. Perhaps I should make a list as well?

List of Things to do Before Europe!
  • Buy one pair of travellin' shoes and one pair of flats
  • Buy several new pairs of pants
  • Buy some packing cubes or similar devices
  • Buy Britrail Pass
  • Look into a ferry to Dublin
  • Look into flights from Dublin to Paris
  • Talk to Dad about getting a camera
  • Get meningitis shot
  • Talk to Doctor about drugs for the plane ride
  • Buy a waterproof jacket
  • Buy a moneybelt
  • Book hostel(s) for first week in London and last week in London
  • Reserve a table for 4 at Gordon Ramsay
  • Purchase a Europe phrasebook
  • Look into and purchase a transformer/adapter/whatever plug for electronic devices
  • Look into buying or renting a global cell phone
  • Make copies of all ID
  • Make a comprehensive list of things to bring
  • PUT MONEY IN SAVINGS

I'm sure there is other stuff to put on the list, but for now that'll be good. Next post maybe I'll make a list of just things I need to buy. That'll be the scary one for me. Since, I'm BROKE! :(
